Daniel Grant

May 7, 1958 — February 25, 2025

Daniel Vernon Grant, 66, of Erhard, MN, died February 25, 2025, at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.

Daniel was born in Pelican Rapids, MN to Virgil and Marilyn Grant on May 7, 1958. He grew up in Edwards, MN, attending school at rural County School District 187 and later, Pelican Rapids High School.

Daniel married Jodeen Nelson in 1980 and had 3 children. He worked at Fergus Well Company for 45 years and volunteered with Elizabeth Fire Department for 26 years. Dan enjoyed playing softball for many years with different leagues in the area and later, acting as umpire for Erhard softball league. He spent a lot of time outdoors fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and playing golf. He really liked to keep a feeder full to watch all the different birds visit outside his living room window. Dan was an avid fan of the Vikings, Twins, and NASCAR, not missing a broadcast if he could help it. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and most of all, he cherished time with his grandkids, goofing around, fishing, or playing cards.

Dan was known for helping friends, family, and neighbors without expecting anything in return. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Marilyn (Sha) Grant, two brothers, Todd and Douglas and his grandparents, Vernon and Joyce Grant and George and Edna (Mogdal) Sha.

He is survived by his 3 kids, Sarah (Jyle) Meyhoff, of Anacortes, WA, Marie Grant and Jarod Grant, both of Fergus Falls, MN; and his 5 grandchildren, Wisteria, Aspen, Nolan, Jace, and Rhett. He is also survived by three siblings, Debra Lehn (Doug Wiese) of Erhard, MN, Robert (Lisa) Grant of Elizabeth, MN and Gary Grant of Fergus Falls, MN.

Service details will be planned for a later date, possibly in May.

Assistance provided by Olson Funeral and Cremation of Fergus Falls.
