Daniel Anderson, 25, of rural Fergus Falls, died Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls. Daniel “Dan” Hermann Anderson was born November 17, 1986, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the son of Jeff and Karin (Remkamp) Anderson. He was baptized at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, and graduated in 2005 from Underwood High School. He attended one year at M-State, Fergus Falls. From elementary school through high school he was involved in wrestling, football, bowling, and also many outdoor activities including kayaking, camping, fishing, and bicycling. One of his favorite jobs was working at Cleveland School as a recess supervisor. He joined the Army National Guard in August of 2008, and on February 20, 2009, graduated from basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he was a member of the 2nd Battalion, 58th Infantry Regiment. Dan worked at Northwest Water Transfer in Williston, ND, DJ Dock and Lift, with the Army National Guard, and as a Recess Supervisor at Cleveland Elementary School. He volunteered at the Fergus Falls VFW, and the Fergus Falls and Underwood American Legion. Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Herman and Elisabeth (Ritter) Remkamp, and his fraternal grandparents, Orville and Mary (Neigel) Anderson. Survivors include his mother, Karin Anderson of Fergus Falls; his father, Jeff Anderson of Fergus Falls; his brother, Dennis and Melissa Anderson and their children Carly, Ava, and Ashton, of Fergus Falls; his sister, Debra (Nick Winkler) Anderson of Fergus Falls; aunts and uncles: Orville Jr. (Elaine), Jerome (Lori), Shirley Koepke, Betty Engelhart, and Leon Engelhart of Fergus Falls; cousins: Sheri Coreano of Colombus, GA, Bobbie (Shawn) Young and their children Alex, Makayla, and Destiny of Fergus Falls, Sabrina (Cheeto) Toso and their child Odessa of Fergus Falls, Samantha (Joe) Stodola and their child Isabel of Becker, MN, Jonathan (Kristen) Anderson, Joe Anderson and his child Justin, and James Anderson of Fargo, ND; as well as numerous extended family, and countless friends. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service, and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.
