Dana Burns

Dana R. Burns, 47, a resident of Underwood and formerly of Fergus Falls, died Monday, October 20, 2008, at Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis.  Dana was born on August 18, 1961 in Fargo, ND, the son of Richard and Charlotte (Forness) Burns. He attended school in Fergus Falls and Underwood. After high school he graduated from Moorhead Tech School. In 1984 he entered the U. S. Army and served at Fort Dix in New Jersey. Dana worked as a welder. He was a member of Tingvold Lutheran Church and enjoyed fishing. Preceding him in death was his wife. Survivors include his son, Richard of Fargo; his parents, Dick and Charlotte of Underwood; three brothers, Terry of Arizona, Robin (Jane) of Fergus Falls, and Jody of Wahpeton; one sister, Barb McCoard of England; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his companion, Ruth Hultunen and her family. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tingvold Lutheran Church of rural Underwood, with Reverend Scott Mikkelson officiating. Burial will take place at Tingvold Cemetery, rural Underwood. Arrangements provided by Olson Funeral Home.
