Dale Ray Woelber, 60, of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Lake Region Healthcare, Fergus Falls.
Dale was born on August 19, 1955, to Delmer H. and Rozetta “Sugar” (Denzel) Woelber in Fergus Falls. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Alexandria in 1973. After graduation he worked with his family’s roofing business. Dale also attended school in St. Cloud, where he obtained his water treatment license.
At the age of sixteen, Dale started as a bus boy and cook at the Holiday Inn in Alexandria. Later, he went into construction and moved to Fergus Falls, where he worked with his father, mother, and siblings, Dan, Denny and Debie at DH Roofing, which was the family business.
Dale loved the outdoors. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball and broomball and umpiring softball. Dale earned his pilot’s license at the age of seventeen. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, tending to his flowers, and bird watching from the living room window. Another favorite pastime was trying to read the hundreds of Louis Lamour books in his collection.
He was preceded in death by his father, Del Woelber; his sister, Debie (Bob) Baglo; two nieces; his grandparents, and many friends.
Dale is survived by his mother, Rozetta “Sugar” Woelber of Fergus Falls; his brothers, Dan Woelber and Denny Woelber of Fergus Falls; four nieces; a great-niece; a great-nephew; a special aunt, Delores Bullis of Elbow Lake; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
