D. Jeanne Schuur, 68, of rural Ashby, died Friday, January 29, 2010, at Lake Region Hospital, Fergus Falls. Jeanne was born on April 2, 1941, to Murel and Evelyn (Funk) Dunham in Akeley, MN. She attended Akeley Public School and graduated from Akeley High School where she was crowned Homecoming Queen in 1959. Jeanne was united in marriage to Lloyd Schuur on April 12, 1992, at First Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Jeanne worked as a beautician, a dispatcher for Konen Cab and, later, did bookkeeping for a lumber yard. More recently, she occupied herself as a homemaker. Jeanne was a member of Kvam Free Lutheran Church, rural Dalton. Jeanne enjoyed gardening, painting, cooking, camping, wagon-train trips, reading her Bible, visiting on the phone or by email and spending time with her grandchildren. Jeanne is survived by her husband, Lloyd; son, Ralph Nordick, Jr. of Brainerd; step-son, Gary Nordick of Moline, IL; five grandchildren, Carlie and Zack Armstrong of Hawley, Tyler and Lillie Nordick of Brainerd, Molly Hanson of Grand Forks, ND; brothers, Laurel Dunham of Robbinsdale, and Robert “Butch” Dunham of Akeley; and sisters, Susie Tobias of Grand Rapids, and Dawn Dunham of Arizona. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, James and John Dunham, and daughters, Carrie Lynn Rath and Terri Jeanne (Rath) Hanson.
