Cyril K. Peterson, 94, a resident of Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead, and formerly of Rothsay, died Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. He was born February 9, 1913, in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, the son of Christ and Hilda (Grefsrud) Peterson. He grew up on the family farm in rural Rothsay, and attended school at District #78 and Pelican Rapids High School. Cyril was a grain and livestock farmer for 60 years. He also cared for his mother in her later years, as well as several aunts and uncles. He retired from farming in 1996 and moved into Pelican Rapids. He later moved to the Sheridan House and Alcott Manor in Fergus Falls. Most recently he was a resident of the Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead. He was a member of South Immanuel Lutheran Church where he served as Treasurer. He was the Trondhjem Township Clerk from 1960 - 1990. Cyril enjoyed fishing and traveling throughout the United States and Norway. He enjoyed keeping in touch with his relatives and keeping up with his family history. Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Orrin Peterson; and a sister-in-law, Genevieve Peterson. Survivors include three brothers: Clifford (Delilah) Peterson of Aurora, Colorado, Randy (Marge) Peterson of Bloomington, MN, and DeWayne (Arlene) Peterson of Fargo, ND; and several nieces and nephews.
