Corrine Edna Knutson, 92, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Broen Home.
Corrine was born in Nidaros Township in rural Clitherall on October 20, 1925, the third of four children born to Oscar and Amy (Nelson) Sandahl. While growing up, she attended school district 153.
In the late 1940’s, Corrine and her sisters moved to Fargo, ND where they worked at the Manchester Biscuit company. They then relocated to Minneapolis, MN where she attended the Lutheran Bible Institute, graduating in 1950. While attending the Lutheran Bible Institute, she worked at the children’s home.
Corrine returned to the Fergus Falls area and worked at Park Region Bakery. She also worked for JC Penny’s for a time.
On July 31, 1965, she married Richard Knutson at Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. The couple welcomed home their son, Jonathan in 1971.
In 1977, Corrine and her family relocated to Dickinson, ND. While there she worked at a nursing home and the state college. They returned to the Fergus Falls area in 1983. For a time, Corrine worked at Bergen’s Plant Nursery. She then started an in-home daycare. After retiring from her in-home daycare, she worked at New Beginning doing drop-in daycare.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Oscar and Amy Sandahl; husband, Richard; sister, Alice Ingle; and brother, Orris Sandahl.
Survivors include her son, Jonathan (Mary) Knutson of Fergus Falls; sister, Hazel Jensen of Fergus Falls; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2018, at the Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls
Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls
Clergy: Reverend David Foss
Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery, Fergus Falls
