Constance E. Michealson, 89, of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, January 26, 2017, at PioneerCare Suites in Fergus Falls.
Connie was born May 14, 1927, to Oscar and Ignette (Strinden) Fjestad in Pelican Rapids. She attended Rural School District #78 and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1945.
On September 10, 1949, she was united in marriage to Franklin “Bucky” Michealson at South Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Rothsay.
For her professional career, Connie worked as a legal secretary for Owen Thompson and as a secretary at Northwestern National Life Insurance Co. She also worked as a caregiver.
As a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, she taught Sunday School, and served as a member of the church women’s circle and ladies aid.
A woman of many interests, she enjoyed sewing, baking, cooking and flower gardening. She enjoyed spending time with and caring for her grandchildren, and time spent at the cabin on Silver Lake. She also enjoyed attending birthday club in her earlier years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; her brother, Ordean Fjestad; her sister, Elda Mae Tostenson; and a nephew, Stephen Tostenson, who resided with the family for several years.
She is survived by her children: Ruth (Ben) Johnson of Fergus Falls, Dale (Elizabeth) Michealson of Morris, and grandsons: Charles Michealson and Tristan Michealson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials are preferred to the Otter Tail County Historical Society or Morning Watch.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the Olson Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.
Service: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Olson Funeral Home Chapel in Fergus Falls.
