Connie Lill

Constance “Connie” Ruby Lill, 76, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Midwest Home Health in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She was born March 11, 1935, in Ashby, Minnesota, the daughter of Rueben and Cora (Ohren) Bergeson. She attended Madison Elementary School, and Fergus Falls High School, graduating in 1954. On January 15, 1955, she married Donny Lill at the Our Lady of Victory Parish House in Fergus Falls. Connie was employed with Otter Tail Power Company from 1959 until her retirement in 1998 as a Sr. Control Coordinator. After her retirement she was employed part time at Herberger’s to fulfill her time and love of people. She was a member of the Eagle’s Auxiliary for 45 years, serving as President from 1972 – 1974, and as Secretary for 15 years. She was also a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, participating in the Catholic Daughters and the church choir. Connie enjoyed gardening, cooking, singing, watching and being an avid fan of all Minnesota sports teams, and especially spending time with her family. She was also a big supporter of the Fergus Falls Hockey Program. Preceding her in death were her parents, Rueben and Cora Bergeson; her husband, Donny Lill; her sisters, Ruthie Daugherty and Beatrice (Jim) Julson; and nephews Matt Benda, and special nephew Ron Daugherty, who lived with the family for several years. Survivors include her children: Rob and Stacey Lill of Chandler, AZ, and Tim and Niki Lill of Fergus Falls, MN; three grandchildren, Amanda Swenson of Underwood, MN, Joe Swenson of Fergus Falls, and Brady Lill of Chandler, AZ; a sister, Margaret Benda of Fergus Falls; and nieces and nephews. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service, and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church Clergy: Father Greg Paffel Interment: St. Otto’s Catholic Cemetery, Fergus Falls, Minnesota Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of arrangements.
