Colleen Kumm

Colleen Pernelle Kumm, 94, of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at LB Broen Home in Fergus Falls under the care of Knute Nelson Hospice.

Colleen was born October 19, 1928, in Fergus Falls to Oscar and Lillian (Peterson) Trosvig. She lived her entire life in Fergus Falls where she attended school and graduated in 1946.

On April 28, 1962, she married Arnold Kumm at First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Arnold and Colleen managed the Swan Apartments in Fergus Falls for many years. She also spent many hours painting apartments as they were updated.

Collen was a member of First Lutheran Church. She loved to listen to the radio. She had a unique sense of humor and loved joking around. In her younger days, she was a fashionista and loved to get dressed up. Her memory was amazing and she was as sharp as a tack up until her final days. She was a whiz at Fergus Falls trivia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold; son, Arne; sisters, Lois Eggen and Helen Duenow; mother and father-in-law, Jennie and Otto Kumm; brothers-in-law, Wilbur Boese, Clarence Kumm, Alfred “Bud” Norgren, Roger “Shorty” Duenow, Rolla Kumm and Russell Marquardt; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Marquardt and Irene Kumm.

Colleen is survived by her daughter-in-law, Denise Kumm (Blaine Hensch) of Elizabeth; grandson, Nickolas (Kylie) Miller; great-grandson, Rhett Miller; sisters, Inez Norgren and Ramona Kumm both of Fergus Falls; brother-in-law, Leo Eggen of Fergus Falls; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins along with her beloved friend and caregiver, Darcy Wandersee.

Funeral Service: 2:30 p.m., Friday, June 9, 2023 at LB Homes Light and Life Auditorium, Fergus Falls, with a visitation prior to the service from 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m., Friday, June 9, 2023 at the Light and Life Auditorium.

Interment: First Lutheran North Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN
