Clinton Emanuel Neu 93, a resident of Fergus Falls, formerly of Dent, went to be with Jesus his Savior, on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Sanford Health in Fargo.
Clinton was born on March 26, 1924, in Rockham, SD. to Andrew and Christina (Lagge) Neu. He was baptized, confirmed and attended school in Rockham, SD. As a young boy, Clinton’s family relocated to the Dent area. He served in the United States Army from 1945-1946, stationed in the Philippines.
He married Clareen Ott on September 20, 1944 at St. John Lutheran Church parsonage in Dora Township, the couple then resided in rural Dent. Clinton was employed with Firestone and Montgomery Ward in Fergus Falls, as a mechanic and tire technician. He retired from Montgomery Ward in 1984.
Clinton is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Richville and a member of the American Legion in Fergus Falls, Post 30. In recent years, Clinton became a resident of the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Clareen Neu; one infant daughter; brothers, Reinhold (Blanche) Neu, Eugene (Charlotte) Neu, LaDell (Shirley) Neu; sisters, Elinor (Emil) Herman and Lillia (Jerome) Fehlman.
Survivors include his three daughters, Karen (Garold) Benke of Dent, Kathleen (Charles) Brasel and Judy Neu of Fergus Falls; three grandchildren, Kenneth (Lisa) Benke, Jeffrey (Sara) Benke, Alisa (Bryan) Beckman; eight great-grandchildren, Kimberly, Katie, Kayla, Kelsie and Skyler Benke, Lily and Ella Reinhardt, Aubrie Beckman; great-great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Bailee, Baize and Harper. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and extended relatives.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Olson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Service: 1:00 p. m. Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Olson Funeral Home Chapel, Fergus Falls
