Clifford Edward Whitman, 57, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at his home. He was born July 28, 1950, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the son of Edward and Dorothy (Peters) Whitman. He graduated from Moorhead High School in 1968. Following high school he served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War from 1969 to 1971 and was stationed in Germany. Clifford was employed by American Linen for 19 years. He was then self-employed at Midwestern Mat in Fergus Falls. Cliff was a member of the American Legion in Underwood. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include his sons, Paul Whitman of Minneapolis, MN, and Jeremy Whitman of Stillwater, MN; a grandson, Lucas Whitman; two sisters, Jean Wagner of Orange, CA, and Joanne Hendricks of St. Cloud, MN; and a brother, Don Whitman.
