Clifford Lewis Budgett Jr., 65, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Monday, August 12, 2013, at his home.
He was born October 29, 1947, in Adrian, Minnesota, the son of Lillian (Schol) and Clifford L. Budgett Sr. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1967 – 1969, receiving many medals and honors. While he was serving he was baptized in a river in Vietnam. He then went on to attend college in Canby, Minnesota, graduating in 1969 with a degree in Architecture/Drafting.
On December 2, 1972 he married Deloris Olson in Clinton, Minnesota. He began his career in 1971 with Burlington Northern. He held many positions during his more than 20 years with the company, one of which was as a section foreman in Campbell.
In 1987 he met Demytra Schroeder, and they were together until her death in 2011.
Clifford enjoyed computers, small engine repair, fishing, playing guitar and music, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, Douglas Budgett; and his longtime companion, Demytra Schroeder.
Survivors include his children: Patrick (Stephanie) Budgett of St. Cloud MN, and Bernadette (Chris) Clave of Polson MT; his step-children, Angela (Cory) Fiedler of Fergus Falls, Genna Pelletier of Fergus Falls, and Trever (Sandee) Schroeder of Hinckley MN; his grandchildren: Alexis Clave, Anyen, Alyse, Sydney, and Elle Fiedler, and Kenneth Goff; his brother, David Budgett of Beardsley, and sister, Lyla Platow of Bagley; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the funeral home
Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013, at the Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls
