Clarence Hennig

July 30, 1915 — December 31, 2008

Clarence Albert Hennig, of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday evening December 31, 2008 at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls. Clarence was born on July 30, 1915 in Fergus Falls the son of William and Augusta (Krause) Hennig. He was baptized, confirmed and married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. On October 12, 1940 he married, Iola Zuehlsdorff at Trinity Lutheran Church. Following their marriage Clarence and Iola spent the first ten years of their life together at various jobs in electrical work. In 1950 he started as an electrical engineer estimator which required extensive travel. The company he worked for was based in Kansas City. He was a member of the IBEW Union for many years. During their time together, Clarence and Iola traveled to forty nine different states. Wherever they were he was active in the Church and very helpful to many people through the years. He has been a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife of 62 years, Iola in August of 2003, a brother, Vernon Hennig, and a sister, Florence Beller. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Hilda Hennig, nieces Diann Hennig, Sidonna Bradow, JoAnn Conte, Joyce Boike, Mary Shinn and a nephew, Paul Whitaker, as well as many cousins and lots of friends.
