Clareen Neu

June 1, 1921 — February 21, 2009

Clareen Helena Almira Neu, 87, a resident of Fergus Falls, formerly of Dent, went to be with Jesus her Savior on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls.  Clareen was born on June 1, 1921 in Star Lake Township, rural Dent, the daughter of Clarence and Ida (Lange) Ott.  She was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran church in Dent and grew up in rural Dent. She attended District #129 Star Lake Township country school. She later received her high school diploma through correspondence. Clareen was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran church on December 19, 1945.    She married Clinton Neu on September 20, 1944 at St. John’s Lutheran Church parsonage in Dora Township. The couple resided in rural Dent, where Clareen was a homemaker, raising three daughters. Clareen was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dent, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and on the Ladies Aid. Currently she was a member at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Richville. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially taking the grandchildren on camping trips. She also enjoyed traveling, cooking and reading. Preceding her in death were her parents; one infant daughter; two brothers, Clinton and Jacob Ott and one sister, Betty Ott. Survivors include her husband, Clinton of Fergus Falls; three daughters, Karen (Garold) Benke, Kathleen (Charles) Brasel and Judy Neu all of Dent; three grandchildren, Kenneth (Lisa) Benke, Jeffrey (Sara) Benke, Alisa Reinhardt; seven great-grandchildren, Kimberly, Katie, Kayla, Kelsie and Skyler Benke, Lily and Ella Reinhardt; three sisters, LaVina Miller, Helen (Donald) Stoering, Marla (Herbert) Wischnack; one brother, Maynard Ott and one sister-in-law, Helen Ott. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and extended relatives. Visitation:  One hour prior to the service at the Light and Life Auditorium. Service: 10:30 a. m. Wednesday at Light and Life Auditorium at the Broen Memorial Home. Clergy:    Reverend Karl Weber and Chaplain Ken Austin Burial:  Silent Vale Cemetery, Maine Township
