Clare Lanzano

Clare M. Lanzano, 87, of Fergus Falls, died Friday, March 22, 2024 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.

Clare Marie McNamara was born February 6, 1937 to Micheal and Clare (Martin) McNamara in Manhattan, New York. She grew up in an orphanage in up-state New York. As a teenager she worked as a telephone operator, a waitress, and a sales clerk at JCPenny all in New York, was a Geriatric Caretaker, and also worked in childcare.

Clare married Edward Andrew Chiafalo in 1956 in Brooklyn, New York. She was then married to John Lanzano in 1979 in Levittown, New York. Later, Clare married Donald Fick on September 8, 2016.

She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Fergus Falls and the Senior Center.

Clare enjoyed laughing with her family and friends, going for walks, gardening, cooking, and bird watching.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, Edward Andrew Chiafalo, John Lanzano, and Don Fick; daughter, Carolann Chiafalo; sister, Kathleen McNamara, and step-son, Dominick Lanzano.

Clare is survived by her children, Phillip E. (Ana M.) Chiafalo, Edward Chiafalo Sr., and Clare (Troy) Johnson; grandchildren, Leah Omilion, Nicole Chiafalo, Maria (Travis) Dacus, Edward Chiafalo Jr., and Aubrey (Cam) Korsness; step-children, Randy, Robin, Renee (Jerry), Rhonda (John), James Lanzano, Johnny Lanzano, and Dawn Lanzano; step-grandchildren, Nick Cappola (Rachael), Cole deCathelineau (Becky), Joel Beebe (Jenny), Derek Grams, Jesse Fick, Jacob Fick, Stefanie Grams and Jenna Beebe; step-great-grandchildren, Brayden, Olivia and Aubrey Cappola and Calvin deCathelineau; brother, Michael (Jane) McNamara, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Olson Funeral and Cremation in Fergus Falls, with visitation one-hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment: Trinity-Faith Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN
