Clara Fronning

Clara Christine Fronning, age 95, a resident of the Broen Memorial Home, Fergus Falls, died Saturday August 30, 2008, at the Home.  Clara was born on April 14, 1913, in Tumuli Township of Otter Tail County, Minnesota, one of nine children of Nels J. and Elise (Ekra) Hoff. She was baptized at the Aastad Lutheran Church. In 1919 the family moved to Pierce County, North Dakota, where she attended rural school and was confirmed at the Eden Valley Lutheran Church of Pierce County.  On June 30, 1937, she and Vernon L. Fronning were married at a lawn ceremony at the Severt Fronning farm. They were the parents of two children. The couple farmed in Buse Township, of rural Fergus Falls.   Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Vernon in 1994, two sisters, Evelyn Fronning and Alice Zimba, 3 brothers, Tom, Jewell, and Art Hoff as well as two sons-in-law, Jim Curtis and Warren Smidt.  Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Curtis of Clayton, Wisconsin; a son, Dennis (Mary) Fronning of Fergus Falls; three sisters, Helen Toso of Alexandria, Lila Ness of Minneapolis, and Luella Schiesser of Fergus Falls; a brother-in-law, Raymond Fronning of New Brighton; two sister-in-laws, Ann Hoff of New Brighton and Eleanor of Minneapolis; 11 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.  Visitation:     5 to 7 pm Tuesday, with a prayer service at 6:30 pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church Service: 2 pm Wednesday at the Aastad Lutheran Church, rural Fergus Falls Clergy:    Reverend Dan Cole Burial      Aastad Lutheran Church Cemetery Funeral Home Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Fall
