Cindy K. Dean, 57, of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, February 7, 2015, following a nearly four year bravely fought battle with ovarian cancer. She was able to spend the last month of her life at home with the support of Lakeland Hospice. She died at her home surrounded by her family.
Cindy was born on June 2, 1957, in Fergus Falls to Gerhard “Gary” and Judy (Nelson) Toso. She was baptized and confirmed at Augustana Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. She attended Adams Elementary School and graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1975.
On November 1, 1975, she married Kim Dean at Federated Church in Fergus Falls. They lived in Detroit Lakes and later moved to Fergus Falls. Cindy worked for various employers including: Fergus Falls Public School District 544, M & K Trucking at Medallion Kitchens, McDonald’s, Taco Johns, Pioneer Home, Productive Alternatives and most recently the Deli at Service Food.
She served on the Camp Board of Campfire’s Moccasin Valley, was involved as a volunteer at Federated Church and served with passion for 17 years with the Relay for Life fund raisers. She had a gentle soul, never complaining and was always anxious to serve others with her ready smile. Her grandchildren were the love of her life and time spent with them was precious.
She is survived by her husband, Kim; her son, Gabe (Mollie) Dean of Ramsey; her daughter, Katie (Mat) Nix of Aitkin; seven grandchildren, Natalie, Kayla, Benjamin and Megan Dean and Peter, Silas and Josiah Nix; her father and step-mother, Gary and Donna Toso of Fergus Falls; brothers, Scott (Yvonne) Toso of Fergus Falls, J.R. (Robbyn Navatto) Toso of Underwood, Travis (Heidi) Toso of W. Fargo, ND and Trent (Kaylee) Toso of Fergus Falls; sister, Bonnie Randklev of Bullhead City, AZ; a step-sister, Loreli (Rob) Westby of Dalton, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her mother, brother-in-law, Warren Randklev and an infant child, Amy.
Visitation: 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2015 with a 7:30 prayer service at the Federated Church
