Christopher George Barr Sr., 38, of Grand Forks, North Dakota, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at the Sanford Palliative Care Center in Fargo, North Dakota.
He was born June 24, 1974, in Lynwood, California, the son of Katherine I. Olson and George Barr. He grew up in North Dakota, attending school in Sheyenne, North Dakota. He then attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota.
Chris loved to cook. He spent ten years at Felix’s in Devils Lake. He also managed Quizno’s in Devils Lake for three years, and most recently was employed at Heartland Care Center in Devils Lake.
He enjoyed spending time with his children, listening to music, spending quality time with friends, and laughter!
Survivors include his children, Emma, and her mother Jodi Olson, Alyssa and Christopher Jr., and a step-daughter, Alexis, all of Grand Forks; a step-grandchild, Xavier of Grand Forks; his mother, Katherine Olson and his father, George Barr, both of Fargo; two brothers, Doug Gray of Fergus Falls, and Joseph Longie of Parkers Prairie; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the Fort Totten Rec Center in Fort Totten ND.
