Charlotte MaryEtta “Toots” Knutson, 78, of Fergus Falls, died Monday, February 27, 2017, at her home.

Charlotte was born on September 19, 1938, to Charles Lloyd and Leona (Buck) Wickham in Ackley, MN, and attended school in Fergus Falls. On May 22, 1958, Charlotte was united in marriage to Gerald T. Knutson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Together they made their home in Fergus Falls and raised three children.

Toots enjoyed playing bingo and going to rummage sales, but most important to her was spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed going to all her grandchildren’s functions and games, as well as the time they spent fishing together.

Charlotte is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Gerald Knutson of Fergus Falls; her children, David (Dori) Knutson, Sandra (Timothy) King and Kevin (Laurie) Knutson, all of Fergus Falls; eight grandchildren, Joshua (Brittany) Knutson, Luke (Karen) Knutson, Kelsey (Dave) Schulz, Kassandra (Kyle) Upright, Kendra (fiancé Nathan Karst) King, Justin (Debbie) Knutson, Lainne (Aaron) Trusty Miller, and Brianna Knutson; nine great-grandchildren, Levi, Carter, Hudson, and Henry Knutson, Mason and Porter Schulz, Kamden Upright, and Kaydence and Ean Knutson; a sister, Judy Karlstad of Mandan, ND; her mother-in-law, Mabel Knutson of Fergus Falls; a brother-in-law, Donald (Marion) Knutson of Detroit Lakes; sisters-in-law, Kay Wickham of Aurora, Sonia Brown of Dalton, and Chris (Jerry) Peterson of Fergus Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Lakeland Hospice or the Minnesota Veteran’s Home Recreation Fund.
