Charlotte A. Burns, 74, a resident of Underwood, Minnesota, died Saturday, January 1, 2011, at Peppi's House In-Patient Unit, Tucson Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. Charlotte was born on December 26, 1936, in Wahpeton, North Dakota, the daughter of Oscar and Ingabord (Wollan) Forness. She grew up and attended school in Colfax, North Dakota. On January 17, 1952, she married Richard C. Burns. Charlotte and her husband owned Twin Pine Resort for 31 years. In addition, she retired from K-Mart after 19 years of service. She was a member of Tingvold Lutheran Church. Charlotte enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time fishing and riding her golf cart. Preceding her in death were her parents, her son, Dana, her grandson, Dylan, and her brother, Gerald (Rosemary) Forness. Survivors include her husband, Richard of Underwood; her daughter, Barbara McCoard of England; her sons, Terry of Tucson, Arizona, Robin (Jane) of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, and Jody of Fargo, North Dakota; 12 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother, Allen (Phyllis) Forness of Colfax, North Dakota, her sister, Carol (Norm) Browne, and her brother Ron (Shirley) Forness of Abercrombie, North Dakota; sisters-in-law Oryce (Leroy) Carlson, and Ann (Dale) Current; a brother-in-law, Vern (Gayle) Burns; and several nieces and nephews.
