Charles Albert Lehn, 77, a resident of Rothsay, Minnesota, died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at his home under the care of Riveredge Hospice of Breckenridge. He was born April 8, 1934, in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, the son of Peter and Gladys (Melkert) Lehn. He grew up in Erhard, attending school in Pelican Rapids. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1955, and was stationed in Germany. On September 8, 1956, he and Jean Bahr were married at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Elizabeth, Minnesota. Following their marriage the couple resided in Rothsay. He worked in construction all his life, doing home construction and masonry. Charles was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, a life member of the Fergus Falls VFW, and retired from the Rothsay Fire Department. Preceding him in death were his parents; an infant sister, Margaret “Peggy”, a sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Craig, a brother-in-law, Lester Ouren, and a nephew, Tim Lehn. Survivors include his wife, Jean, of Rothsay; his children: Kathryn (Mark) Jorgenson of Newfolden, MN, Barbara (Steve) Ackert of Rothsay, Pauline “Penny” (Jeff) Wigdahl of Rushford, MN, Brenda Sauer of Pelican Rapids, and Charles (MaDonna) Lehn of Gilbert, AZ; his grandchildren: Eric Jorgenson, Melissa (Andy) Bjorgaard, Mitchell (Tanya) Ackert, Lindsay (Cory) Axvig, Betsy (Tim) McNeil, Trent Ackert, Ryan (Vickie) Wigdahl, Randy Wigdahl, Sarah (Mike) Sauer, Stephanie (Jason) Torrence, Shane (special friend Shaina) Sauer, Austin Lehn, and Alyssa Lehn; 15 great-grandchildren: Payton, Trevor, Johny, Chase, Brayden, Regean, Adelynn, Riley, Isabella, Madelyn, Charles, Cohen, Kaydence, Katherine, and ShaeLyn; three brothers: Roger (Janice) Lehn, David (Lynette) Lehn, and Ronald (Marlys) Lehn; two sisters: Patricia Ouren and Carol (Melvin) Hodnefield; a brother-in-law, Norman Craig; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation: 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday with a public prayer service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
