Cayden Burud

Cayden Emory Victor Burud, 5, of Fergus Falls, MN, died Tuesday, December 11, 2007, at MeritCare Health Systems in Fargo, North Dakota. He was born May 21, 2002, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the son of Chad and Amanda (Miller) Burud. He was currently a kindergartner attending McKinley Elementary School. Cayden was a vibrant boy who was loved by many. His favorite things were time spent with his friends at school and home - especially his mohawk buddy, Hayden. He loved baseball and the Minnesota Twins. He learned how to hit a baseball at the age of two. Cayden also enjoyed spending time fishing with Grandma and Grandpa at Dead Lake and playing with his uncle Mickens. He always had a great time with his cousins at family get togethers. He loved going to Applebees and eating a corndog and applesauce. Cayden enjoyed Mrs. W's kindergarten class, especially learning numbers and letters. He was a great singer and dancer; he was a real Rock Star! Cayden's smile and blue eyes would light up any room. He always liked to laugh and make others laugh. He would always tell you that he loved you and gave the best hugs. Among Cayden's many survivors are his loving parents, Chad and Amanda Burud of Fergus Falls; his grandparents: Leland and Kathie Burud of Barnesville, Jon and Barb Owen of Fairmont, MN, and Darrell and Deb Miller of Welcome, MN; his great-grandparents, Dolores Goraczkowski of Fairmont, MN, and Joan Hanson of Mankato, MN; aunts and uncles: Jennifer and Rick Souba of Eau Claire, WI, Elizabeth and Bradley Keck of Owatonna, MN, Timothy and Kristin Miller of Fairmont, MN, Nathan Owen and Martha Hayes of Fairmont, MN, Lindsey Owen of Owatonna, MN, Jesse and Angel Bettin of Sherburn, MN, and LeMichael Burud of Big Lake, MN; cousins: Connor Souba, David, Emily and Bailey Keck, Calvin Miller, Eris Owen, and Cody and Tanner Bettin; as well as many great aunts, uncles and extended family members. Preceding Cayden's passing during his lifetime were Grandma Great and Lindsay Ostrem-Roach. Cayden was the light of our lives and he will be with us forever in our hearts and many great memories. We love you all the way to Heaven and back!! A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Life Church in Fergus Falls with Pastor Steve Hoffman officiating. Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of arrangements. A memorial fund has been established at Bank of the West in Fergus Falls.
