Carroll Crouch, 91, of Fergus Falls, died Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Broen Home.
He was born September 12, 1923 in Wessington Springs, South Dakota to Claude and Lida (Washburn) Crouch. He received his BA degree from Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota and his MA Degree from the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks. Additional graduate work was done at the University of Minnesota, University of Colorado, and American University in Washington, DC.
He began his teaching career in the public schools of Luverne. He came to Fergus Falls in 1956 to be a member of the public school faculty and in 1962 moved to the Fergus Falls Community College where he was an instructor and for a time the half-time academic administrator. He retired in 1985. While in the public schools, he was active in the Minnesota Education Association and became president of the Western Division. He served on the State MEA Board for 2 years. His occupation as a teacher was very important to him and he continued to teach Elderhostels after his retirement.
He had been active in Grace United Methodist Church as a member of the choir and served on committees. He was a member of the Planning Commission and the other committees of the city of Fergus Falls and also was active in the revitalization of the Otter Tail County Historical Society and the building of its museum. He served on the first board of the YMCA where he helped organize and develop the YMCA and was an active member of the Golden K Kiwanis.
Carroll is survived by Constance Rostad of Fergus Falls; one niece, six nephews, and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Lida (Washburn) Crouch; one brother, Duane Crouch; sisters, Clara (Leland) Scheel, Eunice (Ronald) Miller, and Mildred (Ray) Symes.

Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church

Burial: 2 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2014 at Prospect Hills Cemetery in Wessington Springs, SD.
