Carolyn Stoen

Carolyn Grace (Doering) Stoen, 74, of Fergus Falls, died peacefully Wednesday, January 1, 2020, at the Barrett Care Center in Barrett.

Carolyn was born November 10, 1945, to Edna (Frank) and Lawrence Doering in Kulm, North Dakota. She had one brother, Gordon.

She married Dennis Stoen and lived most of her life in the Fergus Falls area. For many years she worked as a telemarketer and earlier in life, she worked as a bartender at the Silver Dollar in Elizabeth. She loved the lakes area. She enjoyed cooking and was very good at it. She also took joy in fishing, and fishing all year round when she could. Her other hobbies included crocheting, gardening, and arts and crafts until her arthritis prevented it.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Gordon; step-son, Kelly Stoen, and step-grandchildren, Jared Stoen and Amanda Stoen.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis; children, Larry Irion of Fergus Falls, Greg Irion of Fargo, Penny Trull of Florida, Mike Berg of Fargo, Pat Berg of Fargo; step-children, Mike (Brenda) Stoen of Fergus Falls, Todd (Mary) Stoen of Dent, Kirby (Rhonda) Stoen of Fergus Falls, Kyle Stoen of Fergus Falls, and Jason Stoen of Fergus Falls; 18 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Visitation: One-hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Service: Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at the Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls.
Clergy: Reverend Ethan Fearing
Interment: North Immanuel Cemetery, Pelican Rapids, MN
