Carolyn Johansen, 77, of Dalton, died Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.
Carolyn Ann Finkelson was born February 1, 1946 to Milton and Ethel (Knutson) Finkelson in Fergus Falls, MN. She attended school in Ashby, graduating from Ashby High School in 1964.
After graduation she worked at Midwest Publishing in Minneapolis, as a waitress at the Dalton Café under Vernie and Leona Hames, cooked at Otter Tail County Jail in Fergus Falls, was the owner of the Dalton Café for several years, and the Manager of the Dalton Liquor Store.
On October 16, 1968, Carolyn married Reuben Johansen at Zion Lutheran Church in Dalton.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Dalton, the Fergus Falls VFW, and Ducks Unlimited. Carolyn enjoyed gardening, Bingo, collecting ducks, listening to country music, coloring, watching cooking shows and Gunsmoke, and playing pinnacle.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her mother and father-in-law; twin brother, Charles; sisters-in-law, Nadine and Cathy Finkelson, Marie Moen, and Dorothy Knutson; special brother-in-law, Corky Mark; niece, Robyn Finkelson; nephews, Peter Mosher and Trevor Moen, and brother and sister-in-law, Rudy (Katy) Johansen.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Reuben; her son, Micheal (Irish) Johansen; sisters, Judy (Paul) Sonmor of Dalton, Bonnie Mark of Fergus Falls, and Joni (Dennis) Mosher of Dalton; brothers, Rodney and Elroy both of Dalton; half-brother, Curt Knutson of Ardmore, OK; brother-in-law, Donald Moen of Dalton, and many nieces and nephews.

Service: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Zion Sarpsborg Free Lutheran Church, Dalton, MN, with visitation one-hour prior to the service at the church.
