Carol Elaine Meyer

Carol Elaine Meyer, 84, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, March 29, 2018.

She was born on March 10, 1934, in Elbow Lake, MN, to Felix and Elizabeth May (Ferguson) Olson. Carol completed eight years of country school and graduated from Elbow Lake High School in 1952.

On August 25, 1956, Carol married Eugene Carl Meyer at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake.

Carol worked as a Teletype Operator with Caterpillar, and in the credit department for Montgomery Wards in Bismarck, ND. While living in Minneapolis, Carol was employed by Marshall Wells doing office and credit work, as well as working as a receptionist/bookkeeper with P.C.A. office. She was a stay-at-home mother and was self-employed with ceramics in home for 10 years and crafting for 10 years, retiring in 1990.

Carol was a Sunday School Teacher, part of the 500-card club, and a Treasurer for Girl Scouts.

Carol enjoyed caring for her family, baking, gardening, sewing, as well as fishing and hunting (before she had children). She enjoyed entertaining her family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Felix and Elizabeth Olson; husband, Eugene Meyer; and daughter-in-law, Kimberly (Ostenson) Meyer.

Survivors include her children, Larry Meyer of Rushford, MN, Sherri (Bob) Hansen of Battle Lake, Wayne Meyer of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Robert C. (Rebecca) Hansen, Felicia (Joshua) Leeson, Rachel Stearns, Heather Ostenson, Joshua (Whitney) Ostenson; great-grandchildren, Ethan, McKenzie, Jasper, Christin, Chancellar, Lillian, Brandon, Clayton; brother, Paul (Roberta) Olson; and other family relatives.



Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the funeral home
Service: 11 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018, at the Olson Funeral Home Chapel in Fergus Falls, MN
Clergy: Reverend Tom Peterson
Interment: Ness Cemetery, Elbow Lake, MN
