Carol Anderson

Carol Ouren Anderson, 77, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, November 24, 2011, at PioneerCare. She was born to Gunda (Wee) and Melvin Hexum on June 13, 1934, in Fergus Falls. She graduated from Rothsay High School in 1952. On November 27, 1952, she married Harold Ouren in Rothsay. They lived in the Fergus Falls area until his death in 1974. She married Irvin (Andy) Anderson on January 12, 1990 in Las Vegas. They lived in Fergus Falls until his death in 2004. Carol was employed at the White Drug Store in Fergus Falls and later at the Otter Tail County Department of Motor Vehicle for 23 years retiring in 1996. She loved to make lefse, beautiful hardanger pieces and afghans, which she made for each of her grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Harold; daughter, Denise “DeDe”; husband, Irvin; brothers, Errol and Robert Hexum and a sisters-in-law, Barb Hexum and Joyce Hexum. Survivors include her children, David and Kim Ouren and their children, Derek and Leisha of Fargo and Dan and Lynn Ouren, of Fergus Falls and their children, Erin of San Francisco, CA, John of Phoenix, AZ, and Susie of Fergus Falls. She is also survived by her sister, Kay (Arnie) Moen of Rothsay; brothers, Harry Hexum of Fergus Falls, Myron (JoAnn) Hexum of Rothsay and Dick (Carolyn) Hexum of Eugene, OR; sister-in-law, Carol Hexum of Perham along with numerous nieces and nephews.
