Carl “Butch” W. Rocholl, 72, of Elizabeth, died Friday, January 11, 2019, at the MN Veterans Home Fergus Falls due to a traumatic brain injury accident that occurred on January 10, 2017.

Carl William Rocholl was born January 12, 1946, to Carl and Lena (Boeder) Rocholl in Fergus Falls. During his early school years, he attended Ruggs School, District 187. He then attended Pelican Rapids High School and graduated with the Class of 1964.

Carl married Ingeborg Bletzer on December 15, 1967 in Seigelbach, Germany; the couple had three children. On April 16, 1983, Carl and Renae Marian Vesey were married in Edwards, MN.

As a young boy, Carl was employed by Wilbur Langfeld as a farm worker. He then went on to work for Fergus Falls Coca Cola Bottling, Gerald Evenson Inc., Fergus International, Don Bradow Farms, Robert Bunkowske Farm, Interstate/RDO and Mark Sand and Gravel. In 2003, he started his own business as an independent trucker contracted by Satter Trucking and transitioned to Carl Rocholl Trucking.

From June 1964 to February 1968, Carl served in the US Army. He completed his basic training in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Carl was then stationed in Germany for three years serving in Mannheim, Kaiserlauter and Seigelbach. He earned the following medals and badges; National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Expert Rifle Badge and Basic Driver and Mechanic Badge.

Carl was a member of Tonseth Church Council, a member of Grace Lutheran Church where he served on the membership committee and chaired the Men’s Ham Dinner at Tonseth and Grace.

Carl enjoyed bowling, fishing and farming. He was a master at gardening and lawn maintenance along with being an outstanding cook. He was a great man who always put a smile on the faces of kids as he called them “Maynard”, whether they were a boy or a girl.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Daniel; sister, Mary; grandson, Tom Rasmusson; mother-in-law, Marian Vesey; brothers-in-law, Richard Kvam, Kent Miller, Dennis Vesey and sister-in-law, Donna Field.

Carl is survived by his wife, Renae; children, Allen (Gail) Rocholl, Tom Rocholl, Heidi Lowers (special friend, Roger Paler); grandchildren, Shaina Hogue and Tara Rasmusson, Maddison and Jasmine Rocholl; Destiney (T.J.) Nelson, Fate Rocholl, Brandon Deile, Cole (Megan) Deile; great-grandchildren, BrookeLynn and Nevaeh Rasmusson; siblings, Ruth Miller, Herman Rocholl, Dorene Kvam, Lois (David) Bauman, Diane (Douglas) Thorson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and his furry friends, ChaCha (Carl’s Chihuahua), Schatzi and Molly.

Visitation: 5 PM – 7 PM Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Olson Funeral Home with a public prayer service at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the Church.

at Grace Lutheran Church Erhard
Clergy: Reverend Brad Soenksen
Interment: Bagstevold Cemetery, Erhard
