Caren Ronning, 42, of Barnesville, Minnesota, died Monday, February 25, 2008, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. She was born June 1, 1965, in Mandan, North Dakota, the daughter of Donald and Dorothy (Samuelson) Ronning. At the age of five she moved to Fergus Falls with her family, where she attended school. She was confirmed at Augustana Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Caren graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1983. She then enrolled at Moorhead State College, later transferring to Northwest Vocational and Technical College in Thief River Falls. She moved to Plumber to live with Steven Holubok on his farm while attending school in Thief River Falls. She completed her LPN training in 1992 and in 1994, they moved to Barnesville, and she continued her education at Fergus Falls Community College, graduating with a RN Degree. After graduation she worked for Eventide Nursing Home in Moorhead. Caren loved to hunt and farm, and she enjoyed her cats. She loved her job and especially loved spending time with her family. Caren will be remembered as a great sister, and a caring, loving, helpful person who always put her children first. Preceding her in death was her father, Donald, in 1981. Survivors include her immediate family: Steven Holubok, son, Bobby, Allen (fiance Jordan), Carra Holubok, and Kara Holubok all of Barnesville; her mother, Dorothy Boerhave of Fergus Falls; three sisters: Gloria (James) Schreiber and Carol Motz, all of Fergus Falls, and Kae (Douglas) Knudsen of Maple Grove; four brothers: Tim Ronning of Saginaw, MI, Scott (Jodie) Ronning of Moorhead, Jeffrey (Cathy) Ronning of Maplewood, MN, and Donald (Chih-Chin) Ronning of Toledo, OH, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a grandchild expected in June of 2008.
