Cyril Duane Grover, 70, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Friday, April 4, 2008 at his home. He was born December 8, 1937, in rural Richville, Minnesota, the fourth child of Cyril and Verlie (Babcock) Grover. He spent his youth in the Richville area and attended Perham High School. In 1954 he enlisted in the Air Force as a jet mechanic. He was stationed in Massachusetts where he met and married Patricia O'Neill. The couple moved back to Dent where he was employed driving school bus and at the municipal liquor store. They then moved to Washington where he was employed at Boeing Aircraft. In 1972 they moved to the Detroit area and he was employed at Selfridge Air Force base. From there they moved to Helen, Georgia, where he owned a supper club. He moved to Fergus Falls to be close to his family. He was an agent for Physicians Mutual Insurance Company. Duane was a pilot and enjoyed flying his own hot air balloon for many years. Preceding him in death were his parents; an older sister, Elaine Winkels; and two nephews. Survivors include his three children: Mike (Lynn) Grover of St. Clair, MI, Cheryl Wellman of Washington, MI, and Jackie (Larry) Thomas of Marine City, MI; six grandchildren: Adam Grover, Brandon Wellman, Kristin Wellman, Patrick Thomas, Angela Thomas and Danielle Thomas; two sisters, one brother, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2008, at the Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls with an 8 p.m. prayer service with Reverend Saul Stensvaag officiating.
