Brian Douglas Mensinger, 61, of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, June 13, 2013, at his home.
He was born August 28, 1951, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the son of Raymond and Agnes (Bobik) Mensinger. He grew up in Fergus Falls, attending Our Lady of Victory Grade School and Fergus Falls High School, graduating in 1969. In 1971 he graduated from Alexandria Vocational Technical Institute with a degree in sales and marketing. He moved to St. Louis Park, Minnesota, and worked in the sales and marketing field for Target.
He married Cheryl Hall and they made their home in St. Louis Park. They were blessed with a son, Aaron.
Brian moved back to Fergus Falls in 1985. Soon after he met the love of his life, Vicky Anderson, and they shared their life together for 26 years. He was presently employed at the Eagle’s Club where he worked for over 20 years.
Brian enjoyed cooking for family and friends, often sharing this gift with others as well. He was an avid reader, history buff, and restorer of antique furniture. He was a collector of music, movies, and games. He also enjoyed outdoor sports, especially fishing and golfing. His son and grandchildren were his greatest pride and joy.
He was a member of the Eagle’s Club in Fergus Falls.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Agnes in 2001, and Ray in 2010, and his brother, Greg in 2006.
Survivors include his son, Aaron (Sarah) Mensinger of St. Louis MO; his grandchildren, Andrew Gregory Mensinger, and Meghan Jane Mensinger; and his life partner, Vicky Anderson. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.
Brian enjoyed life and those people close to him. He will be remembered as thoughtful and kind and a friend to all he met. He will be deeply missed.
