Brenda Kay (Fick) Campbell, 59, a resident of West St. Paul, died Saturday, August 10, 2013, at the University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis after a brave and courageous 15 year battle with CLL (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia).
She was born June 23, 1954, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Gordon and Phyllis (Johnson) Fick. She graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1972.
After graduation she moved to California, where she worked for California Land Title in mortgage finance. She returned to Fergus Falls in 1996, working at a Lutheran Social Services Group Home, in the Otter Tail County Court Administration office, and at Community First Bank and K-Mart.
In 2009 she married Luke Campbell in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Brenda was very artistic, enjoying painting, art work, and jewelry making, and loved spending time outdoors and camping. She was also a Master Gardener.
Preceding her in death were her grandparents: Morris and Evelyn Johnson, and Walter and Edna Fick, and her stepmother, Marlys Fick.
Survivors include her husband, Luke Campbell and his children Stuart and Margaret; her father, Gordon (Jeanne) Fick; her mother, Phyllis (Earle) Bombardier; her brothers: Brian (Barbara), Jon, Doug and David Fick; her sisters: Jana Kyute and Jill (George) Bisker; her step-siblings: Scott (Mary Pat) Oien, Beth (Bob) Pearson, Danette Oien, David (Stacy) Oien, Larry (Marcia) Bombardier, Gary Bombardier, and Bonita Benson; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls in the Fellowship Hall, with Reverend Jon Olson officiating. Interment will be at Knollwood Memorial Gardens in Fergus Falls. Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of the arrangements.
