Brenda Kay Brown, 52, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, August 21, 2008, at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She was born September 17, 1955, in Perry, Iowa, the daughter of Howard and Gladys (Jorgenson) Hicks. She grew up in Perry, graduating from high school there. She then attended the Des Moines Area Community College.  On November 2, 1973, she married Robert Lee Brown in Perry. She worked in bookkeeping for 11 years at Bauer Built in Perry, and then was co-owner of Sandbay Resort on West Battle Lake for seven years. She also was the night auditor at the Best Western during this time. She later worked in the CIS Department at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls for nine years, and was also employed part-time at Fleet Farm. She was always a very dedicated employee wherever she worked. Brenda enjoyed gardening, sewing, baking, traveling, collecting teapots and porcelain dolls, and especially spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Robert “Bob” Brown of Fergus Falls; her children: Greg (Stacey) Brown of Alexandria, Chad Brown (Angie Palach) of Fergus Falls, and Kevin (Becca) Brown of Fargo, ND; five grandchildren: Brandon, Clayton, Xander, Makayla and Dillon; and her siblings: Winona Roberts, of Perry, IA,  Lester Hicks, of Cedar Rapids, IA,  Shirley Anderson, of Perry, Jim Hicks, of Rippy, IA,  Iola Bainter, of Perry, Carolyn Wachter, of Liberty Center, IA, Bruce Hicks, of Rippy, and Barry Hicks of Des Moines, IA.  Visitation:   5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Olson Funeral Home Memorial Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls Clergy:   Reverends Paul Nelson and Brad Skogen Funeral Home: Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls Condolences may be sent online at www.olsonfuneralhome.com
