Bonnie Synstelien

Bonnie Synstelien, 77, of Fergus Falls, died January 11, 2025.

Bonnie Jane Larson was born May 27, 1947, in Wheaton, MN, to Dorance and Ora Clare (Rosedahl) Larson. She was the third of seven children, Jean, Judie, Bonnie, Dorry, Nancy, Dayton and Jana. She went to school in Wheaton. When she was 10 years old her mother passed away from breast cancer.

March 6, 1964, Bonnie married Dennis Synstelien of Dalton, MN, and to that union she had three children, Brenda, Julie and Kevin. During that time, she worked at Ten Mile Lake Steakhouse as a waitress first and then a cook. After her and Dennis divorced, she moved to Fergus Falls and was employed 40 plus years at Lake Region Healthcare, working various positions. Shortly after retirement she had a cardiac arrest and survived! She moved to the Page House and enjoyed her time with new friends there.

Some of her favorite things to do were reading, playing cards, trips to the casino, being with her family, hanging out with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an amazing cook and, on the holidays, she would have to stay overnight at Brenda's because she couldn't trust the turkey would be cooked right if she wasn't there. She would even cook foods she wouldn't eat because she wanted to make everyone happy.

Preceding her in death were her parents; bother, Dorry; grandson, Justin Fiedler; and nephews, Shawn Olson and Mikkel Rockne.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Brenda (Dean) Wasvick, Julie (Rob) Fiedler and Kevin Synstelien; grandchildren, Tina (Ben Formo) Davis, Jared Dewey, Anna (Logan) Synstelien and Tara (Zach) Fiedler; great-grandchildren, Lilyanna, Jayda, Laiden, Evangelina, Aailah, Haiden and Freya; siblings, Jean (Clyde) Olson, Judie (Nellie) Larson, Nancy (Terry) Anderson, Dayton (Terri) Larson and Jana (Joe) Rockne; sister-in-law, Nancy Larson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Grace Lutheran Church in Erhard, MN, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
