Bobby Ackert, 42, of Fergus Falls (formerly Rothsay), died Wednesday, December 16, 2020, due to ongoing health issues, at his residence.
Bobby was born, with his twin brother Billy, on August 24, 1978, in Breckenridge, MN to John and Sharon (Haslerud) Ackert.
Bobby worked a variety of jobs, including the Farmers Co-op Tire Shop in Rothsay, Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative in Wahpeton, ND, and Nord Construction in Fergus Falls.
He enjoyed the outdoors and spent as much of his time outside, as his health allowed. Bobby truly loved spending time with kids, especially his nieces and nephews. He was a big kid at heart.
Everyone who met Bobby liked him and everyone who knew him loved him. Bobby had a wicked sense of humor; he could frustrate you in one moment and have you laughing in the next. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Darrell and Norma Ackert and Gertrude and Harry Haslerud; his “adopted” grandma, Viola Larson, and brother-in-law, Dale Larson.
Bobby is survived by his daughter, Toni Rossow (Hunter) and baby grandson due in March 2021; parents, John and Sharon Ackert; siblings, Christina Larson, Billy Ackert, David (Jamie) Ackert; a niece, Gracie; four nephews, Cody, Johnny, Roy, and Colten; aunts, uncles, and cousins; friend, companion, and caregiver, Michelle Dupree, and too many friends to name.
There will be a Memorial Service on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Rothsay Community Center. Please remember to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
