Beverly Norlin, 86, of Fergus Falls, died Friday, December 20, 2024 at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.
Born November 20, 1938, In Broad Run, MD to parents Charles C. Ahalt and Evelyn (Routzahn) Ahalt. She was baptized and confirmed and married at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Burkittsville, MD.
Bev graduated from Middletown High School in Middletown, MD, in 1956 and was hired by the Federal Government to work in Washington, DC. While there she met Richard (Dick) Norlin and they were married February 1, 1958. They moved to Phoenixville, PA where Dick finished his time in the Army, and from there moved to Minnesota, living in Roseau, Baudette, Hancock, and since 1967 in Fergus Falls. While in Fergus Falls, she worked six years for School District 544, and 24 years for Otter Tail Power where she retired as Assistant Corporate Secretary in 1998.
They enjoyed traveling, making two trips to Europe, numerous cruises, including a cruise around the Hawaiian Islands for their 40th Anniversary. Winters since 1999-2010 were spent in Alabama and she continued to spend winters there for several more years. Dick passed away October 30, 2011.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Christensen of Fergus Falls,MN, Carol (Scott) Johannes of Golden Valley, MN, and one son, George (Karlyn) Norlin, of Thief River Falls, MN. Beverly has four beautiful and talented granddaughters, Alisyn Christensen (John Harrison), Kaylee (Matthew) Audette, Emily (Josh) Koop, and Shelby (TJ) Rostad and four great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Elaine (Richard) Brandenburg of Jefferson, MD, and Karen (Robert) Hiltner of Middletown, MD, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband and her parents.
She has been an active Red Cross volunteer both in Minnesota and Alabama; a charter member of the Fergus Falls Lioness Club; a Lion since 1993 where she held the offices of Secretary and Treasurer, and served on the district level as Zone Chairman for four years and Cabinet Secretary Treasurer for a year; down south she regularly attended three Lions Clubs and helped with projects as time permitted.
She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls and Grace Lutheran in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church Foundation or Deacon's Fund or to Lions projects.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2024 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, with visitation one-hour prior to the service at the church.
Clergy: Reverend Kate Bruns and Reverend Eliza Johnson
Interment: MN Veteran Cemetery, Little Falls, MN at a later date
