Beverly Joy Gatz, 77, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Friday, June 22, 2012 at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. She was born October 2, 1934, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of William and Ann (Nelson) McCrossin. She grew up in Fergus Falls, graduating from Fergus Falls High School in 1952. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she was a lifetime member. On August 13, 1955 she married Regis Gatz Sr. in Pasco, Washington. They lived in Pittsburg for a time, returning to Fergus Falls in the early 1960’s. Over the years she worked at Skogmo’s Café, the VFW, Normandy Café, and retired from the RTC after 26 years in food service. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Bev was a fun loving person with a great sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She would do anything for anyone, her door was always open, and there was always a cup of coffee waiting for you. She enjoyed watching the Twins and Viking games and Joel Osteen on Sunday mornings. Preceding her in death were her parents, and siblings: Duane McCrossin, Doris Stenstrom, and Gail Paulson; brother-in-law, Eugene Stenstrom and nephew Robert McCrossin. Survivors include two sons: Regis Gatz Jr. of Parkers Prairie, and William Gatz of Fergus Falls, and three daughters: Carol (Roger) Turner of Missouri, Tammy Madson of Fargo, and Lisa (Blake) Tommerdahl of Fergus Falls; grandchildren: Jason and Robyn Madson, Jesse Madson, Joshua Madson, Travis and Staisha Tommerdahl, Shawn Tommerdahl (friend Heidi Thornton), Tanya Tommerdahl (friend Jamie Schmidt), Nathan, Jonathan, and Kristine Gatz; great-grandchildren: Brooklyn and Cody Madson, and Izabel, Aurora, Gavin, Abigail, Evelynn Tommerdahl, Braxton, and Taelyn Schmidt- Tommerdahl. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephew; brother-in-law, Sanford Paulson and sister-in-law, Yvonne McCrossin.
