Betty Kolle (Ogg), 83, formerly of Fergus Falls, died Monday, September 24, at her home in Fridley, MN of natural causes.
Betty was born on June 9, 1935 near Norcross, MN to Kenneth and Noma (Rarer) Ogg. She later graduated from High School in Herman, MN. Following high school she worked as a nurses’ aide while attending State Teacher’s College (MSUM) to pursue a teaching degree.
On November 25, 1955 Betty married Raymond Kolle. They made their home in Fergus Falls, MN where they raised their five children. Betty taught for many years and eventually retired from the Fergus Falls School District. After retirement she continued teaching while spending time in Texas.
Betty loved traveling with Ray, quilting with her friends at Rock Prairie church, and exploring her family history through genealogy. She also enjoyed baking and made sure there was always lefse and krumkake at Christmas time. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Kolle; parents, Kenneth and Noma (Rarer) Ogg; brother-in-laws, Irving Sperr, Clifton Kolle; sister-in-law, Mary Kolle; and daughter-in-law, Charlotte (Ken) Kolle.
Survivors include her five children; two sons, Ken Kolle and David Kolle; three daughters, Donna Kolle, Kathy (Don) Oien, and Debbie (Jeff) Gieser; grandchildren, Allison (Eric) Haase, Alishia (John) Sheski, Nate (Karissa) Kolle, Jon (Danielle) Gieser, Tiffany Giser, Nicole Gieser, and Shane Baker; several great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Sperr; brother-in-law, Art (Elaine) Kolle; as well as many nieces, nephews.
Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the Olson Funeral Home with a 6 p.m. public prayer service. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Rock Prairie Lutheran Church, rural Elbow Lake, MN
