Bethine Weinrich

Bethine Luverne Weinrich, 68, a resident of Foxhome, died Saturday, October 11, 2008 at her home after a lifelong battle with diabetes and its’ complications. She was born January 16, 1940, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, the daughter of Maurice and Wanda (Swartz) Gulseth. The family resided in Chicago, moving to Alexandria in 1949. She attended school there, graduating from Alexandria High School. She then attended X-Ray Tech School in Fergus Falls. She was employed at Scotts Five and Dime Store.  Bethine met Werner Weinrich in 1959 at the Winter Wonderland Festival square dance in Fergus Falls. They were married June 17, 1961 at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria, MN. After their marriage the couple resided in Clinton and Brooten, MN, eventually settling in Olivia, MN where they lived for 29 years. She was employed at the Olivia Nursing Home and the Bird Island Manor as a CNA. In 2000 the couple retired to the Foxhome area. She was an active member of Vukku Lutheran Church. While living in Olivia she was an active member of Cross of Calvary Lutheran Church. Bethine was a strong woman of faith. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents. Survivors include her husband, Werner, of Foxhome; her children, Ruth Ann (Jeff) Moore of rural Breckenridge, and Jeff (Angela) Weinrich of Pelican Rapids; four grandchildren: Jedediah Moore of Bloomington, MN, Dustin Moore of Breckenridge, Kendra Weinrich and Jessica Weinrich both of Pelican Rapids; a brother, Don (Joyce) Gulseth of Minneapolis; a nephew, Matthew Gulseth of Minneapolis;  a niece, Leah (Lenny) Traxler of Belle Plaine, MN and great nephew, Teddy Traxler; and two sisters-in-law, Marie (Harlin) Kling of Dickinson, ND, and Kathleen (Chuck) Johnson of Park Rapids, MN. Visitation:  5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service and resumes  one hour prior to the service at the church.
