Beth Wentworth

June 21, 1965 — January 8, 2009

Beth Renee Wentworth, 43, a resident of Champlin, formerly of Fergus Falls, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 8, 2009, after a courageous six year battle with breast cancer. Beth was born June 21, 1965 to Jerry & Joann (Kropp) Nelson in Fergus Falls. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace United Methodist Church. She attended school in Fergus Falls, graduating in 1983.  Beth married Brian Wentworth on September 6, 1986. They had two children, Eric (born in 1989) and Tara (born in 1991). In 1997, the family moved to Champlin, Minnesota where they resided until her death. Beth worked at Lake Region Hospital, Wells Fargo Insurance and Farmers Insurance in Champlin. Beth’s greatest love was her family. Her beautiful personality and spirit was an inspiration touching anyone that met her. She was a source of great strength to all that knew her. Beth celebrated life to the fullest. She loved watching her children play their various sports, gardening, home decorating and travel. She spent every opportunity with family at the lake, going shopping, being involved with Race for the Cure, and planning large family gatherings. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Ralph and Myrtle Nelson, Ray and Beatrice Kropp and father-in-law, Tony Wentworth. Survivors include her husband, Brian, son Eric (special friend Samantha Ziegler) and daughter Tara all of Champlin, Minnesota; parents, Jerry and Joann Nelson of Fergus Falls; and siblings Laurel (John) Petersen of Fergus Falls, Jeff (Vicki) Nelson of Tonka Bay, and Lynne Petterson (special friend John Strauch) of Fergus Falls. Other survivors include her mother-in-law, Louise Wentworth, and brothers-in-law, Craig (Tammy) Wentworth, Kevin (Kristi) Wentworth and Todd (Amy) Wentworth. Surviving nieces and nephews include Joseph, Samuel (Satia) and Andrew Petersen, Jesse Ruen, Travis, Trevor, Kendra, Lexi, Logan, Cole, Meagan and Erika Wentworth. Visitation:  5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with a 6:45 p.m. prayer service and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.
