Beatrice “Bea” Skramsted, 84, died Saturday, September 14, 2019, at PioneerCare, Fergus Falls.
She was born October 12, 1934, in Perham, MN to Leo and Margaret (McGowan Sperling) Washtock. Her family moved to Minneapolis when she was two, and later moved to Edina, Harris, Rush City, MN and Fargo, ND. She graduated from Shanley High School in Fargo and the College of Medical Technology in Minneapolis.
Her first job after lab school was at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. She also worked at the Fergus Falls Clinic and the Fergus Falls Regional Treatment Center, working for the State of MN for 32 years.
On June 1, 1957, Bea married Leo Skramsted at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Fergus Falls. They had two children, David and Lori, living in Staples and Bloomington, MN before returning to Fergus Falls.
Bea was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, St. Clares Mission Circle and MN State Retiree Association. She especially cherished spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking, entertaining, gardening, flowers, and the Minnesota Vikings and Twins. Leo and Bea spent 15 winters in Alamo, TX and enjoyed going to Mexico.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Leo, who died in 2010; brothers-in-law, Jess, Bert, Verne, and Roy Skramsted; sisters-in-law, Susan Washtock, Lillian Thompson, Gladys Krienke, Lucille Ogren, Helen Skramsted, Dorothy Skramsted, and Cleo Skramsted.
Survivors include her son, David (Dori) Skramsted of Spring Lake Park, MN; her daughter, Lori (Jace) Gilbertson of Fergus Falls; brother, John Washtock (special friend Carol Trick); three grandchildren, Justin (Nancy) Dohrer of Fargo, Jessica (Matt) Blake of Maple Grove, and Ryan (Autumn) Dohrer of Moorhead; seven great-grandchildren, Isiah, Madison, Carter, Camryn, Madden, McKanna, and Kinzley; sister-in-law, Betty Skramsted; and 19 nephews and nieces.
Memorials preferred to LB Hospice, Fergus Falls
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2019, with parish prayers at 6:30 at the funeral home, and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church
Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2019, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Fergus Falls

Interment: St. Otto’s Catholic Cemetery, Fergus Falls
