Beatrice Louaine Julson, 81, a resident of Fergus Falls, and formerly of Groton, SD, died Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at Midwest Home Health in Fergus Falls. She was born January 1, 1928, in Ashby, Minnesota, the daughter of Ruben and Cora (Ohren) Bergeson. She grew up on the family farm near Ashby, and graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1947. She then worked as a nurse’s aide at St. Luke’s Hospital in Fergus Falls. On March 30, 1952, she married James N. Julson in Ferney, SD. They moved to Missouri where James was stationed in the Army. In 1954 they returned to South Dakota where they farmed and raised dairy cattle. She remained on the family farm after her husband’s death in 1987 until 2004, when she moved to Fergus Falls to reside at Midwest Home Health. Bea was active in her local Garden Club as well as Ladies Aid and choir at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Groton, SD. She loved singing harmony with her two sisters and especially loved gardening most of the years of her life. Bea was best known for her fantastic lefse and flotbrod baking skills. Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband. Survivors include two sons, Chris (Kristin) Julson of Cape Girardeau, MO and their sons Erik and Thor, and Doug (Linda) Julson of Blue Springs, MO and their daughters Domini and Sarah; and two sisters, Connie Lill and Margaret Benda, both of Fergus Falls. There will be a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls with Reverend Matthew Martin officiating. There will also be a memorial service at 12 p.m. Sunday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Groton, SD. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen, SD.
