August 6, 1926 — August 3, 2015

Baris Julia Oscarson, age 88, of Fergus Falls, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015 at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls.

Baris was born on August 6, 1926, to William G. and Rosa W. (Heine) Matheson in Breckenridge. She attended Breckenridge High School, graduating in 1944. During WWII, Baris was a Civilian secretary for the United States Navy in Washington, D.C., and then she was secretary for Farmers and Merchants State Bank, Breckenridge.

On April 4, 1948 Baris married Lynal J. Oscarson in Wahpeton, North Dakota. Together they started farming near Campbell. In 1957 they bought their family farm in Western Township where they lived, worked and raised their family.

She enjoyed everything about living her life in the country. She spent many hours working the soil, tending to her plants, flowers and vegetables and turning her yard and gardens into something beautiful for all to enjoy. The country quiet added to her joy of song bids coming to visit the many feeders. She also enjoyed doing jig-saw puzzles, playing cards and visiting family and friends.
