Barbara High

Barbara L. High, 67, of Fergus Falls, died Monday, April 15, 2024 at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls.

Barbara Lynn was born October 28, 1956 to Alta Joyce (Stock) and LuVern Sandahl in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. After a divorce, Alta married Dean High who adopted Barbara as his daughter.

Barb attended high school in Farifax, Virginia and Whittier, California. She lived in Mammoth lakes, California for 20 years before moving back to Fergus Falls, Minnesota in 2001.

She enjoyed summer vacations at her Uncle Dick Stocks and son Rick Stock's cottage on Ottertail Lake for many years. She loved animals, especially Great Danes. She owned and rode motorcycles. Barb was very artistic and enjoyed working with stained glass.

Her death was preceded by her sister, Kathryn Joyce (1983) and her mother, Alta Joyce (1985). She is survived by her father, Dean who lives in Palm Desert, California, many cousins in Minnesota and two half-sisters, Janet Wolverton and Karen Rivera who live in Illinois.

Memorial Service: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Olson Funeral and Cremation in Fergus Falls, with visitation one-hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment: At Western Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Fergus Falls, MN with her sister, mother, and other relatives.
