Barbara Kathleen Hermes

Barbara Kathleen Hermes, 93, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Monday, April 23, 2018, at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls.

She was born on July 5, 1924, to Elias and Annette (Lindquist) Hanson, in Elbow Lake, MN. Barbara graduated from high school in Fergus Falls in 1942.

In 1948, Barbara married John A. Hermes in Fergus Falls, MN.

Barbara was employed as a clerical assistant in the Fergus Falls City Hall. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Birthday Club, Homemakers, Senior Citizens, A Center for the Arts, Sons of Norway, Historical Society, Hospital Auxiliary, and the Faculty Wives.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Elias and Annette Hanson; husband, John A. Hermes; brother, Don Hanson; as well as numerous other family members.

Survivors include her children, Tim (Heidi) Hermes, Marcia (Mark) Dufty, Mark (Susan) Hermes, Shari (Bill) Barron, Paul (Angie) Hermes, Chuck (Jamie) Hermes; grandchildren, Erin (Brent) Mattson, Nick (Cassy) Dufty, Emily Hermes, Anna (Jon) Gregory, Klara and Jack Hermes, Lindee, Frances, and Maeve Hermes; great-grandchildren, Dylan Palach, Everly Gregory, Brekkyn Lammert, Abbott Mattson, Kinsley Dufty; sisters, Colleen Moore, Pat Stock, Sally (Gordon) Jones; and special friend, Geraldine Melby.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018, at First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls
Clergy: Reverend Stan Satre
Interment: St. Otto’s Catholic Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN
