Barbara Burbach

Barbara Burbach, 66, a resident of Henning, died Saturday, February 4, 2012, at her residence under the care of Lakeland Hospice and her family. She was born January 30, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Bernard and Dorothy (Hansen) Behrens. She grew up in the Chicago area. On May 12, 1962, she married Donald Burbach in Homewood, Illinois, and they enjoyed almost 50 years together. Following their marriage, they lived in Chicago Heights and Steger, Illinois, and then in Lowell, Indiana. Following retirement, they moved to Henning, Minnesota, in 1992, where she achieved her lifelong dream of owning a hobby farm. Barbara’s hobby of raising quarter horses and riding brought her much joy. She loved her dogs, from her purebred shepherds to the mixed breeds. She also liked crafting and scrapbooking, sewing, and raising flowers. Barbara was full of life and loved living it. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Henning. Preceding her in death were her parents. Survivors include her husband, Donald, of Henning; her children: David of Chandler, AZ, Laura of Chandler, AZ, and Sheryl (David) Young of Henning; five grandchildren: Ryan, Donald, Autumn, Amber, and Stephanie; five great-grandchildren: Ethan, Taylor, Payton, Natasha, and Devan; a brother, Richard Behrens of Eagle River, WI; and many other family members and wonderful friends that were like family. Living memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
