Austin Huus

Austin Huus, 15, of Fergus Falls, MN died Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from struggles with physical and mental health. Austin is in the loving arms of the Lord Our Father Almighty.

Austin Victor Huus was born January 6, 2009 to Greg and Lisa (Kelder) Huus in Fargo, North Dakota. Baptized at Standing Rock Lutheran Church in Fort Ransom, ND. Attending his kindergarten year at Fort Ransom K-6th school before moving to Fergus Falls in 2015. He had First Communion and was close to finishing confirmation with Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Austin was very active with Bethlehem and attended many mission trips and Bible camps through the years with his own church groups and also local Young Life group. As a Freshman at Kennedy Secondary School in Fergus Falls, Austin enjoyed hanging out with his many friends and competing in various sports. Football has always been a passion as he looked up to his older brother Jarrett playing and proudly wore the #22 jersey.

Austin's love for people and family brought him the most joy. He helped on Tysdal's Farm in the summers. Austin loved spending time with his siblings, he was very competitive with his brother and sister in everything. He enjoyed helping work on his brother, Jarrett's race car with his dad, sister and close family friends. He loved hanging out with his buddies, snowboarding, snowmobiling, racing, 4-wheeling, dirt bikes, hunting, fishing, shooting pool, golfing, football, and weight training. He was active in FFA, Young Life Club, Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, Church Youth Group, and Bethlehem Lutheran Church activities. He was not afraid of trying or doing anything. Austin lived in the moment and looked forward to every interaction with others and worked to bring joy to everyone he met. He had the biggest heart and infectious smile.

Preceding him in death were his grandpa, Selmer M. Huus; grandparents, Victor and Ann Kelder; aunts, Sherry Lorenz and Dawn Hass.

Austin is survived by his mother, Lisa Huus; father, Greg Huus; brother, Jarrett Huus; sister, Makayla Huus; grandma, Ruth Huus, and countless friends and family.

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in

Fergus Falls, with prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Please wear apparel that reminds you of Austin.

Visitation will resume one-hour prior to the service at the church.
