Audrey Jerelynn Tollefson, 72, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, October 10, 2009, at her home under the care of Lakeland Hospice. Audrey was born June 30, 1937, in Fergus Falls, the daughter of Carl and Tillie (Anderson) Grewe. She was confirmed at Trefoldighed Lutheran Church of Battle Lake. She graduated from Battle Lake High School. After school she worked at City Cafe and Bakery and Northwest Bank of Fergus Falls. On March 21, 1959, she was united in marriage to Darrel F. Tollefson at Trefoldighed Lutheran Church in Battle Lake. They established their home on a farm near Fergus Falls, where they lived and worked side by side and raised their family. Audrey was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and an awesome cook. She was an excellent seamstress, and also enjoyed crocheting, crafts, gardening, cooking, reading, and spending time with her family. She had a great love of music. She was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church in Elizabeth, where she was very active as a Sunday school teacher, with the church council, with WELCA, serving as president, and singing in the trio. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Darrel; four children: Janet (Norbert) Bueckers of Cushing, MN, Joyce (Brooklyn) Haus of Fergus Falls, Leslie Tollefson of Fergus Falls, and LeAnn (Chad) Frenzel of Bemidji; nine grandchildren: Joanie (Chad) Miller of Long Prairie, Jackie (Travis) DiGiovanni of Motley, David (Nichole) Bueckers of Albany, Mandy (Joseph) Hanneman of Rothsay, Monica (Adam) Petersen of Moorhead, Jeremy (Kara) Haus of Dilworth, Joshua (Kate) Haus of Fergus Falls, Meghan Frenzel of Bemidji, and Brendan Frenzel of Bemidji; 11 great-grandchildren: Emily Miller, Abbigail, Ethan, Elizabeth, Andrea and Anthony DiGiovanni, Baley and Mackena Bueckers, Peyton Hanneman, Karlie Petersen, and Griffin Haus; two sisters, Margarete (Arvid) Hustad of Battle Lake, and Doris Richards of Fergus Falls; a brother, Ken (Gwen) Grewe of Amor; and a sister-in-law, Vivian Grewe Shol of Fergus Falls. Preceding her in death were her parents, Carl and Tillie Grewe, her brothers, Richard Grewe and James Grewe, her sister-in-law, Ginny Grewe, her brother-in-law, Gary Richards, a niece, Karen Hubbard, and several other relatives. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service, and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.
