Arlone Lee

Arlone Joan Lee, 80, of Fergus Falls, died Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls.

She was born April 11, 1933, in Casselton, North Dakota, the daughter of Clarence and Esther (Grabow) Schmidt. She grew up there, graduating from Casselton High School.

On April 13, 1952, she married Wesley Lee in Pelican Rapids. They relocated to Jamestown, North Dakota where they lived for 20 years, where she raised her family, kept the home and worked as a clerk at Barker’s Clothing Store. Her husband worked for Otter Tail Power Company. In 1972 they moved to Fergus Falls where she has lived since.

Arlone loved to quilt, sew, make pillows and blankets, paint and stencil, and do crossword puzzles. She was an avid gardener and landscaper. She loved camping and spent summers at the Elks Point Campground on Wall Lake.

She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the VFW Auxiliary.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Wesley, in 2010, and a son, Randy.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra (Tom) Shearer of Rapid City SD and a son, Steven (Mari Lynn Romslo) Lee of Fergus Falls; five grandchildren, Nicole Lee of Fergus Falls, Lindsay (Patrick) Arbach of Fargo ND, Derek (Samantha) Meyer of Grafton ND, Taryn (Brendan Akerman) Lee of Underwood and Randy Lee Jr. of Fergus Falls; five great-grandchildren, Elissa, Kadence, Kylie, Brayden and Bentley, with baby boy Arbach due in July; two sisters, Beverly Mitchell and Diane (Leo) Ernst all of Casselton ND; a brother, Curtis (Joan) Schmidt of Jarrettsville MA; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her two dogs, Kodi and Kelly.

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with a 5 p.m. prayer service and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church
Memorial service: 2 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls
